⚠️ Important Notice

EuroTaxCalc provides tax calculators for informational and educational purposes only. All calculator results are estimates — they are not professional tax advice, legal advice, or accounting advice. Never make a financial decision based solely on EuroTaxCalc results. Always verify with your country's official tax authority or a qualified tax professional.

1. General Disclaimer

The information, content, and tools available on EuroTaxCalc (https://eurotaxcalc.com) are provided on an "as is" basis for general informational and educational purposes only. EuroTaxCalc is operated by Ammar Sarwar as an independent information resource — we are not a registered tax firm, accounting practice, legal services provider, or financial advisory service in any jurisdiction.

By using EuroTaxCalc, you acknowledge and agree that all information, calculator results, tax guides, and other content are provided without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. You accept full responsibility for how you use the information provided on this website.

This Disclaimer should be read alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which together govern your use of EuroTaxCalc.

2. No Professional Tax Advice

EuroTaxCalc does not provide professional tax advice. Nothing on this website — including calculator results, tax guides, country pages, FAQs, blog posts, or any other content — constitutes professional tax advice, accounting advice, legal advice, or financial advice of any kind. No professional relationship of any kind is created between you and EuroTaxCalc by your use of this website.

Tax matters are complex, highly individual, and often jurisdiction-specific. The information on EuroTaxCalc is designed to give you a general understanding of how tax systems work in various European countries. It is not designed to — and cannot — account for your specific personal circumstances, employment arrangements, residency status, applicable tax treaties, or any other factor that may affect your actual tax position.

Before making any decision that involves tax — including decisions about employment structure, business formation, freelance work, residency, or any financial planning — you should seek advice from a qualified tax professional who is familiar with the laws of the relevant country and your specific situation.

If you are unsure where to find a qualified tax advisor, we recommend contacting your country's official tax authority directly. Links to official tax authority websites for all 15 countries covered by EuroTaxCalc are listed on our About page.

3. Calculator Results Are Estimates Only

All results produced by EuroTaxCalc's calculators are estimates. They are calculated using published official tax rates, thresholds, and standard assumptions as of the last update date shown on each country page. Calculator results:

  • Are based on the inputs you provide — results are only as accurate as the figures you enter
  • Are based on simplified assumptions and standard scenarios that may not reflect your specific situation
  • Do not account for special exemptions, individual allowances, employer-specific arrangements, benefits in kind, or other personalised factors
  • Do not account for tax treaty provisions that may apply if you work across multiple countries
  • Do not constitute a tax assessment, tax return calculation, or official determination of your tax liability
  • Should not be used as the basis for filing a tax return without independent verification
  • May differ from amounts on your actual payslip, tax bill, or official tax assessment

✅ How to verify your actual tax liability:

  • Use your country's official government tax calculator where available
  • Contact your country's tax authority directly — links on our About page
  • Ask your employer's payroll department to explain your payslip deductions
  • Consult a registered accountant or tax advisor for personalised calculations

4. Tax Laws Change Frequently

Tax rates, thresholds, allowances, and regulations change regularly — often annually through national budget laws, and sometimes mid-year through emergency legislation. EuroTaxCalc reviews and updates all calculators at the start of each tax year and aims to reflect mid-year changes as quickly as possible.

However, we cannot guarantee that every calculator reflects the most current rates at all times. There may be a delay between when a legislative change takes effect and when our calculators are updated. Examples of mid-year changes that have occurred in countries we cover include the Ukrainian military levy rate increase in October 2024, and various VAT adjustments across European countries.

The last verified update date for each country's calculator is shown on that country's page. If you are aware of a rate change that is not yet reflected in our calculators, please contact us at hello@eurotaxcalc.com and we will prioritise the update.

Always verify the current applicable rates for your country with the official tax authority before relying on any EuroTaxCalc result for a financial decision.

5. No Liability for Financial Loss

EuroTaxCalc and its operator (Ammar Sarwar) expressly disclaim all liability for any financial loss, tax penalty, interest charge, underpayment, or any other financial consequence arising from:

  • Reliance on calculator results from EuroTaxCalc for any financial, employment, or tax-related decision
  • Errors or inaccuracies in tax rates, thresholds, or calculation logic on EuroTaxCalc
  • Tax rates that have changed since the last update to a calculator
  • Misinterpretation of calculator results or tax information on EuroTaxCalc
  • Any action taken or not taken based on information from EuroTaxCalc
  • Failure to seek independent professional tax advice before making a financial decision

This limitation of liability applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. For full details, see our Terms of Use.

6. Multi-Country Disclaimer

EuroTaxCalc covers tax systems in 15 European countries. Each country has its own tax laws, official language, regulatory bodies, and update cycles. Our disclaimer applies equally to all country pages and calculators on the platform.

The following specific limitations apply across our multi-country coverage:

Regional taxes not included

Many countries have regional, municipal, or cantonal taxes in addition to national taxes. Our calculators cover national-level taxes only unless otherwise stated. Local surcharges may increase your actual tax liability.

Non-resident rules not covered

Our calculators are designed for tax residents of each country. Non-residents, expats, and cross-border workers are subject to different rules and tax treaty provisions that our calculators do not model.

Scotland rates not modelled

The UK calculator uses England, Wales, and Northern Ireland income tax rates. Scotland has separate, different income tax bands set by the Scottish Government. Scottish taxpayers should use HMRC's official tools.

Currency and rounding

All monetary results are rounded to two decimal places. Minor differences between our results and official calculations may arise from rounding methodology used by different tax authorities.

Language and legal interpretation

Country pages are written in each country's native language. While we aim for accuracy, the official legal texts of tax laws take precedence over any description or explanation on EuroTaxCalc.

Self-employment varies widely

Self-employment, freelance, and small business tax rules vary enormously across countries and individual circumstances. Our self-employment calculators model standard scenarios only.

10. Your Responsibility

By using EuroTaxCalc, you acknowledge and accept the following responsibilities:

1

Verify results independently

You are responsible for verifying any calculator result with the official tax authority for your country or with a qualified tax professional before making any financial decision.

2

Seek professional advice when needed

For any tax matter with real financial consequences — employment decisions, business structure, freelance work, tax filings — you should seek advice from a qualified, licensed professional.

3

Check for updates

Tax rates change annually and sometimes more frequently. You are responsible for checking that the rates used in our calculators are still current before relying on results.

4

Provide accurate inputs

Calculator results are only as accurate as the figures you input. You are responsible for entering correct values into our calculators.

5

Understand the limitations

Our calculators use simplified models. You are responsible for understanding that your actual tax situation may differ from the standard scenarios modelled by our tools.
